Just got a call from the Dr. The testing came back -- Cassie has an e coli bacterium bladder infection. And that (supposedly), this sort of infection is resistant to the fast acting pennicilin shot that she was given. All of that is somewhat odd to us, since Cassie is no longer urinating any more than normal. And, there's no blood.
I don't doubt that the culture came back with e coli. But, I worry that the bacterium culturing was done badly. All symptoms gone, from what we can see. The Dr. said that it's possible that Cassie has had this for a while. And, that while she's no doubt uncomfortable from it, she's likely gotten used to it (dogs get used to life a lot more than we do!)
So, picking up antibiotics this afternoon, but also wondering if we're taking Cassie down another path of possible discomfort...
