Cassie has been both dragging/sleeping, and, leaking pee 2-3x/day for the past few days. Not a good situation. I don't mind the peeing as much, because it's almost ALWAYS on the tile and we can mop it up. One of us takes her outside and soaks a towel and wets her down, the other mops. So, it's pretty easy to recover from.
But, her other problem is that she's been out of it a LOT of the time.
We attribute both problems to the new seizure med, Keppra. She gets it 3x/day (meaning someone must be home with her around 2:30pm). But, even that's OK, because after all, we are running doggie hospice. The problem is the side effects.
She's showing no direct symptoms of having a brain tumor. But, the meds to treat it are giving her the (above) symptoms. We're hoping that soon she adapts to the keppra, as she did to the phenobarbital. Then we can go back to having a retired, senior dog, who hangs with us as we spent the months watching her and trying to show her we love her and we're sorry that we're saying goodbye to her...
